Celebrating Joanna Macy
Joanna Macy died peacefully in her Berkeley home on July 19 from complications after a fall. She was 96 years old.
In the last 3 weeks of her life, she was supported by a home hospice team and surrounded by the loving care of family and friends who accompanied her on her transition. Her death was followed by a three day wake in her home where people came to pay their respects. On October 3, there will be a Celebration of Life to honor Joanna with her family and friends. It will be held in San Francisco at Grace Cathedral. There is no cost to attend and it will also be live-streamed.
