An Evening with Joanna Macy and Friends, To refuel our love for life and joy in service to the Earth Community

We are excited for our next monthly Evening with Joanna and Friends! This is a drop in event and each evening will include teaching, meditative practice, and an interactive exercise from the Work That Reconnects. There is no need to buy tickets or register in advance, just show up!

Drawn from deep ecology, systems theory, and spiritual traditions, the Work That Reconnects has been empowering activists for global justice and environmental sanity around the world for over three decades. Joanna, a Buddhist scholar and root teacher of the Work That Reconnects, is author of 13 books including World as Lover, World as Self and Coming Back to Life.
Suggested donation (per evening) $20. No one turned away for lack of funds.

We have limited backjacks and chairs, so please bring a cushion to sit on if you'd like one.

This event (December 11th) will be held at the Trackers space (3049 Adeline st.) which is next door to Terra's Temple. We will also be doing 4 more evenings in the new year on the second thursday of the month.

Coming Back To Life: The Updated Guide to the Work That Reconnects

Joanna Macy and Molly Young Brown
The original Coming Back to Life has helped people transform denial, despair and grief in the face of the social and ecological challenges of our time. This new, completely updated edition repositions the classic work within the context of deepening global crises and the cognitive, spiritual and perceptual revolutions occurring all around us.
US/CAN $21.95

The most remarkable feature of this historical moment on Earth is not that we are on the way to destroying the world — we've actually been on the way for quite a while. It is that we are beginning to wake up, as from a millennia-long sleep, to a whole new relationship to our world, to ourselves and each other.

For peace, justice, and life on Earth, fresh ways of seeing arise, and ancient ways return. This web site opens doors to the new bodies of thought, time-tested spiritual practices, and pioneering group methods, that I find to be powerful inspirations to understanding and action. I share these resources in service to the revolution of our time: the "Great Turning" from the industrial growth society to a life-sustaining civilization.

In these pages you'll find key aspects of my work:

Partake and use for the healing of our world!
